Below we have listed the most suitable eyewear designs for some of the most common face shapes.
Round:
For people with a rounded facial structure, frames with a rectangular or box-shape structure work best. As rounded faces have very few angles, the cheekbones are often not very prominent. In this case you should avoided rounded frames with dark lenses as they can make the face seem heavy.
Heart:
Rimless styles with narrow tops often work well for people with heart-shaped faces. A pair that is wider at the bottom can also be complementary as they help to balance out the shape of the face.
Square:
Frames with more of a rounded structure usually work best for people with square-shaped faces. Thinner frames will help enhance the angles of the face and give soften the look. Semi-rimless designs may also complement this face shape.
Oval:
This is the most accommodating shape of face when it comes to fitting a pair of frames. Each different frame will help to accentuate different facial features, so if this is you it may be a good idea to try on a few styles and see which you prefer.
Oblong:
Deep rounded frames help to break up the long look of an oblong face. Fully-rimmed styles can really help to shorten the look of the face and create a more formidable look.
Finding the perfect frame to suit your face can be difficult, and of course there are exceptions to every rule. The above are just rough guidelines and we would advise trying on a few styles before making a definitive choice.
